Budanov called the situation surrounding Prosecutor General Kravchenko harmful to Ukraine

Kirill Budanov, Head of the Office of the President, commented on the situation surrounding Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko and the cases involving anti-corruption agencies.

In his view, the allegations against anti-corruption officials, as well as Kravchenko’s sudden departure abroad, are negatively affecting Ukraine’s international image.

“None of this is normal, and it is doing the utmost harm to Ukraine’s image in the world,” Budanov said in response to a question from “Ukrainska Pravda.”

Earlier, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported that he was abroad on an official business trip.

The Anti-Corruption Action Center stated that Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko allegedly left Ukraine after signing a notice of suspicion against NABU Director Semen Kryvonos. The Anti-Corruption Center claims that this may have been done in exchange for the opportunity to leave the country.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have denied Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko’s statements regarding the alleged indictment of NABU Director Semen Kryvonos and offers of immunity.
