Cherries have become significantly more expensive: current fruit prices in Ukraine
Prices for seasonal fruits and berries continue to fluctuate in Ukraine. As of June 15, strawberries have become cheaper, while the price of cherries has risen significantly over the past week.
According to data from the Stolychny market, apples cost between 28 and 55 UAH per kilogram, bananas between 60 and 65 UAH, oranges between 70 and 85 UAH, and lemons between 140 and 150 UAH. Prices for these fruits remained unchanged.
At the same time, strawberries have become nearly 6% cheaper and are selling for 70–95 UAH per kilogram. Cherries have seen the sharpest price increase—their cost has risen by more than 77% and currently stands at 150–180 UAH per kilogram.
Experts attribute the drop in strawberry prices to an increase in supply from Ukrainian farms. Due to favorable weather, significant volumes of the crop are entering the market, putting downward pressure on prices.

In the coming days, the downward trend in strawberry prices may continue. In contrast, apple prices may rise due to a reduction in last year’s harvest stocks, while the cost of imported fruit will depend on the hryvnia exchange rate.

As a reminder, in March, inflation in Ukraine exceeded the National Bank’s forecast, primarily due to a sharp rise in fuel and energy prices on global markets. This led to higher business costs, which were reflected in prices for transportation, services, and some food products.
In March 2026, annual inflation in Poland stood at 3%. One of the key reasons for the rise in prices was the increase in energy costs amid the situation in the Middle East.
