A Russian strike damaged about 10,000 Nova Poshta packages
Following the Russian attack on Kyiv on June 15, approximately 10,000 packages stored at Nova Poshta’s state-of-the-art sorting terminal were damaged. The company assured that it would contact customers and compensate for the losses. Meanwhile, the rest of the shipments across the country continue to be delivered with almost no delays.
As a result of the Russian missile attack on Kyiv on June 15, Nova Poshta’s largest innovative sorting terminal was destroyed. The company has already calculated how many shipments were affected by the strike. As company co-founder Volodymyr Poperechnyuk said in a comment to Channel 24, approximately 10,000 packages were damaged. “About 10,000 packages that were in containers were damaged. There weren’t very many parcels in the terminal itself; they were being held for pickup. We will be contacting customers today, conducting an inventory, and compensating our customers,” he said.
According to Poperechnyuk, the issue only affects those shipments that were on the terminal premises at the time of the strike. Other parcels that are already in transit are being delivered almost as usual. “Other shipments moving through Ukraine are proceeding almost without disruption according to schedule,” noted the company’s co-founder.
As a reminder, as a result of the Russian attack on June 15 in Kyiv, Nova Poshta’s largest innovative sorting terminal was destroyed. The facility played a crucial role in the company’s logistics system and ensured the rapid sorting of large volumes of shipments. The terminal was equipped with modern automated sorting systems from the Dutch company Vanderlande. It was thanks to this equipment that the company was able to quickly process thousands of parcels daily.
Currently, Nova Poshta is conducting an inventory and preparing to pay compensation to customers whose shipments were damaged or destroyed as a result of the Russian strike. Company co-founder Volodymyr Poperechnyuk reported this to Channel 24.
