Train schedules in the Sumy region have been changed due to attacks by the Russian Federation
Due to Russian attacks, train service to Trostyanets in the Sumy region has been temporarily rerouted. Starting August 4, trains will no longer run to the “Trostyanets-Smorodine” station but will terminate their route in Boromlia. The day before, the city came under a massive attack, which left two people injured.
Train No. 6006 on the Sumy–Trostyanets route, which usually departs at 5:50 p.m., will now temporarily run only as far as Boromlia Station. It will not continue on to Trostyanets. The return train No. 6005, running from Trostyanets-Smorodine to Vyry, has also changed its route. It will depart at 7:54 p.m. from Boromlia Station. City officials emphasized that these trains will not run to the “Trostyanets-Smorodine” station for the time being.
The changes to the train schedule are due to Russian attacks on Trostyanets. Mayor Yuriy Bova reported that the city was attacked by 19 rocket-powered drones over the past 24 hours.
Two men were wounded in Trostyanets as a result of Russian strikes beginning on the morning of August 4. In light of the attacks, it was decided to temporarily reduce rail service to the city. No information has yet been provided regarding when trains will resume service to the “Trostyanets-Smorodine” station. This was reported on the Trostyanets City Council’s Facebook page.
As a result of a Russian strike with guided bombs on Sumy on August 4, two young girls—10-year-old Sofia and 5-year-old Emilia—were killed. The children were in their own home when the Russian attack cut short their lives. Photos of the deceased sisters have appeared online.
