Queues at the border with Poland are growing: the State Border Guard Service has identified the best time to cross

With the start of the summer season, passenger traffic at the Ukrainian-Polish border is rising rapidly. According to the State Border Guard Service, approximately 115,000 people crossed the border daily over the past weekend alone.

The heaviest traffic is currently being recorded at the Shehyni and Ustyluh checkpoints, where dozens of cars were waiting in line as of June 8. At the same time, the “Rava-Ruska,” “Hrushiv,” and “Smilnytsia” checkpoints remained virtually empty.

State Border Guard Service spokesperson Andriy Demchenko noted that in June, outbound travel from Ukraine will predominate due to the start of the vacation season and summer break. According to him, traffic flows may even out in July, while an increase in the number of people returning home is expected in August.

To avoid long waits, border guards advise planning trips on weekdays and crossing the border in the morning. The longest lines traditionally form in the evening and on the eve of weekends.

The State Border Guard Service also recommends checking the current situation at border crossing points before traveling and, if possible, choosing less congested routes.
