Chervinsky has filed a lawsuit against the SBU and Malyuk
Former intelligence officer Roman Chervinsky has filed a lawsuit. He is seeking protection of his honor, dignity, and professional reputation in a case against the SBU and its former head, Vasyl Malyuk.
On May 25, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv registered Chervinskyi’s lawsuit. The military officer went to court to defend his honor, dignity, and professional reputation. In addition, he is asking the court to declare certain information false and to refute it. Chervinskyi is also seeking moral damages, the amount of which is currently unknown. The news agency “Interfax-Ukraine” is listed as a third party that does not assert independent claims regarding the subject matter of the dispute in this case.
“Glavkom” managed to learn more details about the substance of Mr. Chervinsky’s claims against the SBU and Vasyl Malyuk. In mid-April of this year, the former intelligence officer announced in a media interview that he was preparing a lawsuit against Malyuk.
“It was Malyuk, I’ll put it this way, who created a media frenzy around this case and tried to prematurely declare me guilty, call me a deserter, claim that people died because of me, that this was established by the investigation, that I am guilty of this, that I must answer for it, and so on,” Chervinsky stated.

In April 2023, Malyuk noted in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine that Roman Chervinsky is a suspect in the case of the Russian shelling of the Kanatove airfield in the Kirovohrad region on July 23, 2022. According to the former head of the special services, Chervinsky was involved in a special operation to hijack a Russian plane in the summer of 2022, which was supposed to land at the Kanatove airfield.
However, this operation failed. As a result of the occupiers’ shelling of the airfield, the commander of the military unit was killed and 17 Ukrainian defenders were wounded. Two combat fighters of the Ukrainian Air Force were also completely destroyed, and the runway, other equipment, and buildings sustained significant damage.
“In my opinion, the scoundrel whose actions led to the death of one Ukrainian soldier and the wounding of seventeen others must face the punishment he deserves,” is how Malyuk described Roman Chervinsky.
On May 26, in an interview, Roman Chervinsky noted that in the case concerning the rocket attack on the Kanatove airfield, there are currently no victims of his actions.
