A man who raped his own daughter was sentenced to 15 years in prison
The court found a 37-year-old man from Cherkasy guilty of rape, sexual assault, and crimes related to child pornography.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison—the maximum penalty provided for under the charges.
It turned out that the man had been sexually abusing his own young daughter for a long time when his wife was not at home.
The defendant also recorded his criminal acts on video and stored the files on his phone. Additionally, he accessed child pornography online, downloaded it, and stored it on his phone.
This is a particularly serious crime against a child, committed by a person who was supposed to protect her. The prosecution proved the defendant’s guilt in full, and the court imposed the maximum penalty allowed under the relevant statutes,” noted Volodymyr Ponomarenko, head of the regional prosecutor’s office.
As noted, the defendant pleaded guilty during the trial.
