The State Customs Service has confirmed the arrest of one of its employees in connection with the murder of a military officer
The State Customs Service of Ukraine has officially confirmed that the individual detained on suspicion of murdering a serviceman at the Territorial Recruitment Center in Lviv is an employee of the Lviv Customs Office.
According to the agency’s press service, customs officials received information about their employee’s involvement in the crime from law enforcement agencies. The service emphasized that it does not condone unlawful actions and is fully cooperating with the investigation to objectively clarify all the circumstances of the tragedy.
The incident caused a significant public outcry, as the victim was a soldier performing his official duties. The Lviv Territorial Recruitment Center emphasized in a special statement that punishment for the attack on a representative of the Armed Forces is inevitable. Currently, law enforcement officials are conducting the necessary forensic examinations and interrogations to establish the motives behind the crime. The court will provide a final legal assessment of the suspect’s actions after the completion of the pre-trial investigation, which is being overseen by the senior leadership of law enforcement agencies.
The State Customs Service expressed its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased serviceman. It is expected that a preventive measure will be imposed on the suspect in the near future, given the severity of the offense committed. The incident underscores the tense atmosphere in society and the need for strict adherence to the law by all officials, regardless of their status or place of work. Evidence is currently being gathered regarding the detainee’s involvement in the attack that resulted in fatalities.
An employee of the Territorial Recruitment and Support Center was tragically killed in Lviv. The incident occurred during mobilization activities on Paton and Vyhovsky Streets.
The National Police clarified that prior to the attack, TCS personnel did not detain the assailant—he approached the serviceman on his own and stabbed him in the neck.
