The director of a state-owned agricultural enterprise has been accused of the disappearance of 57 cows
In the Zhytomyr region, law enforcement officials have notified a 46-year-old director of a state-owned agricultural enterprise in the Zviahel district—which is under the management of the State Property Fund—that he is suspected of official negligence. According to the investigation, the official failed to provide the farm with qualified personnel and veterinarians, and also failed to organize proper care and treatment for the cattle.
As a result of improper management between February and June 2026, at least eight head of cattle died due to the spread of infectious diseases, and another 57 animals went missing. The manager also failed to ensure the timely disposal of the dead livestock, which contributed to further infection. The amount of damage caused to the state exceeded 1 million hryvnias, and the suspect faces charges under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for official negligence resulting in serious consequences.
