A soldier from the Special Forces was detained in the Vinnytsia region after attacking representatives of the State Security Service
In the Vinnytsia region, during a search for a servicemember who had left his military unit without permission and was wanted by authorities, an attack occurred against representatives of the Military Law Enforcement Service. As a result of the incident, two Military Law Enforcement Service personnel sustained injuries.
During the encounter, the man began to resist, provoked a fight, and later seized an axe and continued his aggressive behavior. The “Scorpion” rapid response unit was called in to apprehend him.
The suspect was detained and handed over to National Police officers. A check confirmed that he was wanted for deserting his military unit.
Following the attack, two members of the Special Police Unit received medical attention. One of them is undergoing inpatient treatment; the condition of both is assessed as satisfactory.
The police have opened a criminal investigation into the incident under several charges, including causing bodily harm to military personnel while they were performing their duties, making death threats, and intentionally damaging a service vehicle. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
