Bus fares in Vinnytsia will increase starting July 15
Starting July 15, new fares for minibuses will take effect in the Vinnytsia city community. The cost of a ride on most routes will double—from 15 to 30 hryvnias.
The Vinnytsia City Council’s executive committee adopted the corresponding resolution on July 9. According to the resolution, fares on most city routes will cost 30 hryvnias, while on suburban routes No. 30A (“Central Bus Station – village of Shchitky”), No. 30B (“Central Bus Station – Pysarivka Village”), and No. 34A (“Vinnytsia – Havryshivka”) — 35 hryvnias.
The previous fares had been in effect since June 2022. At that time, the fare on most routes was 15 hryvnias, and on some routes, 18 hryvnias.
City council officials explained that the decision was made following a request from the bus companies. Prior to this, relevant departments reviewed the financial projections provided by the companies. The carriers justified the need to raise fares by citing increases in the cost of fuel, maintenance, bus repairs, spare parts, and other operating expenses.
City Hall also reported that following the fare changes, it will monitor the carriers’ compliance with contract terms, including adherence to schedules, the regularity of service, and the technical condition of the buses.
Currently, there are 29 bus routes operating in the Vinnytsia city community, with 206 buses running daily. Passenger transportation is provided by 74 carriers—both legal entities and individual entrepreneurs.
