A cold snap is coming to Ukraine: forecast for the start of the week
On Monday, August 17, a cold front from Europe will approach Ukraine, bringing relief from the heat, primarily to the country’s western regions.
According to a meteorologist, temperatures in the western regions and in some parts of northern Ukraine will drop to +25...+28 degrees on August 17.
At the same time, hot weather will persist in the rest of the country, with daytime highs expected to reach +30...+33 degrees.
“Therefore, in the western regions and in some parts of the north, the heat will ease to +25–+28 degrees on August 17. Hot weather will persist across the rest of Ukraine, with temperatures reaching +30 to +33 degrees during the day on Monday,” Didenko noted.
In Kyiv, August 17 will be warm but not extremely hot. The daytime temperature will be around +27 degrees.
There is a slight chance of rain in the evening.
As early as August 18, the western regions will experience a more significant drop in temperature. Thermometers will read +17...+23 degrees, and rain is also expected.
On Wednesday, August 19, temperatures will become more comfortable throughout Ukraine—forecasts call for +23...+29 degrees.
“On Wednesday, temperatures will be comfortable throughout Ukraine, ranging from +23 to +29 degrees. Later in the week, the heat will turn up the heat again,” the meteorologist added.
Thus, Ukraine can expect a brief cooling trend in the coming days, which will be most pronounced in the west of the country, though the heat may return later.

On Sunday, August 16, dry and hot weather is expected in Ukraine. No precipitation is forecast, and daytime temperatures will range from +27 to +32°C.
According to data from the Boris Sreznevsky Central Geophysical Observatory, the average monthly air temperature in Kyiv in July was 20.8°C, which is 0.5°C below the climatic norm.
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a warning about temperatures reaching 38° and a fire hazard.
