DTEK Restored Power to 496 Communities After Shelling
Over the past week, DTEK energy workers have fully or partially restored power to 496 communities in three regions that had been left without electricity due to Russian shelling.
The most significant damage to energy infrastructure was recorded as a result of attacks in areas where hostilities are ongoing.
From August 10 to 16, DTEK energy workers were able to fully or partially restore power to 496 communities that had been left without electricity due to enemy shelling.
“We were able to restore power to the homes of nearly 900,000 families,” the statement said.
For the eighth consecutive week, the largest number of restorations occurred in:
Donetsk Oblast, where heavy fighting and constant shelling continue. Despite the difficult security situation, power engineers restored electricity to 427,000 families over the course of the week;
in the Odesa region, which also continues to face enemy attacks, power was restored to 259,000 families;
nearly 190,000 more households in the Dnipropetrovsk region were reconnected after power outages caused by shelling.
Utility workers begin emergency repair work immediately after receiving permission and access to the damaged facilities from the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Emergency Service.
DTEK upgraded 37 power facilities ahead of winter.
As a reminder, the state-owned PrivatBank signed a contract with Darex Trading Solutions LLC to purchase diesel generators with connections totaling 349.96 million hryvnias.
The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) approved a resilience plan for Kyiv, and its implementation has already begun.
Kyiv residents are advised to stock up on water for three days due to the risk of new attacks.
