Energoatom has suspended some employees pending an anti-corruption investigation

The Supervisory Board of JSC "NAEK "Energoatom" has adopted a series of decisions aimed at radically strengthening the integrity and transparency of corporate governance.

During recent meetings held on May 8 and 10, 2026, an action plan was approved in response to findings by anti-corruption authorities.

The impetus for these decisive steps was information from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) indicating possible criminal offenses by certain company officials.

This information was also confirmed by additional independent sources, prompting the board to act immediately.

“Several company employees have been suspended from work and relieved of their duties for the duration of the investigation,” the Energoatom press service officially announced.

An internal audit regarding the circumstances outlined by NABU began on May 11 and is intended to determine the degree of culpability of each of the suspected employees.

In addition to personnel sanctions, the Supervisory Board has initiated a structural reorganization of the company. By June 19, 2026, the reorganization of the departments responsible for economic security and the physical protection of facilities must be completed.

A key stage of the reform will be a complete overhaul of top management. The Supervisory Board approved the engagement of an international recruitment firm to conduct an open and transparent competition for key positions.

This involves selecting candidates for the positions of Chairman of the Board, Chief Financial Officer, and Director of Nuclear Safety and Operations.

This approach, based on international standards and an assessment of candidates’ actual merits, is intended to ensure the recruitment of professionals with impeccable reputations.

“The launch of an international search for executives and the necessary procurement were approved at the tenth meeting of the Supervisory Board on May 8,” the company emphasized.
