In Kryvyi Rih, the driver of a VAZ-2106—who, according to preliminary reports, was under the influence of alcohol—tried to convince police officers after a traffic accident that his dog had been behind the wheel.
The incident occurred on the morning of August 3 near the Rokuvata station in the direction of the bypass road. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road into a ditch. No one was injured in the accident.
After the accident, the man moved his dog into the driver’s seat and, when patrol officers arrived at the scene, claimed that the animal had been driving the car. He also suggested that the officers test the dog for intoxication.
The police did not accept the driver’s explanation and documented the actual circumstances of the traffic accident.
