Latvia's foreign minister was in a shelter during the Russian Federation's attack on Kyiv
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže spent part of the night in a shelter during the massive Russian attack on Kyiv on August 5. She spoke about this during a joint press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.
During the press conference, Braže expressed her condolences to the families of those who lost loved ones during the massive Russian strike on Kyiv.
“We, too, took shelter in a bomb shelter here in Kyiv. This was not the first time, and, unfortunately, it will not be the last,” she said.
Braze emphasized that even though “the Russians can smash windows and destroy buildings,” they “will never be able to destroy Ukraine or its spirit.”
“They are incapable of breaking the Ukrainian people. And this is the most important conclusion to be drawn from this visit and all these discussions,” the Latvian foreign minister emphasized, according to the European Parliament.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Silpo distribution centers, resulting in fatalities.
As a result of a Russian missile attack on the night of August 5, production and logistics facilities belonging to the company “Epicenter” sustained significant damage. One employee was killed, and three others were injured.
As a result of a Russian drone attack on August 4 in Dnipro, a warehouse belonging to the company “Biosfera”—which was part of a 20,000-square-meter warehouse complex—was completely destroyed.
