Arsen Zhumadilov, CEO of the Defense Procurement Agency, has resigned

Arsen Zhumadilov, Director General of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA), has submitted his resignation. According to him, his last day in office will be August 31.

Earlier, a source in the defense sector reported that the head of the DPA plans to resign due to the situation surrounding arms procurement.

According to the source, the problem arose because the new weapons procurement procedure had not been launched.

The Ministry of Defense had planned to transition from direct purchases to conducting tenders based on tactical and technical specifications (TTS). However, the new system has not yet been launched, and the previous procedure is no longer in use.

As a result, the Ministry of Defense accuses the Agency of Inaction of inaction, while the agency states that it is ready to conduct tenders but is awaiting the necessary TTCs from the ministry.

Thus, Zhumadilov’s resignation comes amid uncertainty regarding the mechanism for procuring weapons for the Ukrainian army.

Zhumadilov announced this during a press conference.

Earlier, former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov stated that he did not want to speculate about the reasons for his dismissal or disclose the content of his conversations with the president. According to him, while a certain conflict was publicly discussed, he is convinced that the real reasons for his resignation were different.
