Audience members can have their names engraved at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater
The Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater has announced the launch of a large-scale project to renovate the auditorium.
The theater’s administration invites anyone interested to join a charitable initiative to restore the seats and receive a unique opportunity to have their name inscribed on the walls of the legendary theater.
Each patron can financially support the restoration of one or more seats in the auditorium.
“As a token of gratitude for their support, a commemorative plaque bearing the patron’s name or the company’s name will be placed on the restored seat,” the theater explained.
Both individuals and commercial companies or non-profit organizations are eligible to participate in the project.
The cost of participating in the initiative depends on the seat’s location in the auditorium. Restoring a seat in the stalls from rows 1 to 8 will cost 15,000 hryvnias, from rows 9 to 14—12,000 hryvnias, and all other seats cost 8,000 hryvnias.
The cost of restoring individual boxes ranges from 40,000 to 85,000 hryvnias, depending on their location and category.
Program participants have the option to choose to restore one or several seats, an entire row, or even a single box. The final design, format, and size of the commemorative plaque are approved by the cultural institution’s administration.
The text of the inscription must be agreed upon with the donor prior to its actual production and installation.
“The theater reserves the right to refuse to produce or install a plaque if the proposed information contradicts the rules of the state institution, ethical norms, or the theater’s reputational standards. The plaque will be placed in the selected location until the next renovation or dismantling of the auditorium,” the institution stated.
