The Supreme Court upheld the sentence against a former high school principal for embezzling nearly 1 million hryvnias

On June 16, the Supreme Court upheld the position of prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General and upheld the sentence against the former director of a vocational school in the Khmelnytskyi region. She was convicted of embezzling nearly 1 million hryvnias in public funds.

Prosecutors proved that in 2021, the official, in collusion with businesspeople, entered into contracts for the supply of equipment and a vehicle for a training and practical center. Some of the property, specifically the vehicle, was never actually delivered to the institution, yet she signed documents confirming its alleged receipt, which served as the basis for the transfer of budget funds.

As a result of these unlawful actions, the state suffered losses amounting to nearly 1 million hryvnias.
