A man from Kherson was sentenced to life in prison for coordinating Russian strikes

A resident of Kherson was sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property for treason. According to the investigation, after the city was liberated, he passed on the coordinates of the Ukrainian Defense Forces and other intelligence information to the Russian occupiers.

Prosecutors proved that in December 2022, the man established contact with representatives of the occupying authorities, and subsequently used Telegram to regularly send data on the deployment locations of Ukrainian troops, the movement routes of military equipment, the situation in Kherson, and the sentiments of local residents.

According to the investigation, the information he provided was used to adjust artillery strikes, plan combat operations, and conduct information and psychological operations. Some of the coordinates he transmitted were used by Russian troops to shell the Kherson region.

The court found the man guilty of treason. He will remain in custody until the verdict becomes final.
