Only 7% of Ukrainians do not use social media — survey
More than half of Ukraine’s citizens actively use the Telegram messaging app, making it the undisputed leader among social platforms.
According to the results of a recent survey by Socis conducted in March 2026, this platform is the only one whose audience has exceeded the 50% threshold.
The study demonstrated Telegram’s significant lead over its competitors.
While the leader of the ranking has a rating of 58.2%, the next most popular platforms show noticeably lower audience reach figures.
Specifically, YouTube ranks second with 39.3%, and Facebook rounds out the top three, used by 33% of respondents.
Viber, which was previously popular, is currently chosen by 28.7% of respondents, while Instagram and TikTok have 20.5% and 18.9%, respectively. Platforms X and Threads remain niche, with figures around 1.5%.
Messaging apps and social networks have firmly established themselves as the primary sources of news. Nearly 49% of Ukrainians receive information about social and political life through channels on Telegram and Viber.
Traditional national television currently shares its position with “word of mouth”: only 23% of respondents trust news from TV screens or information from relatives and acquaintances.
Interestingly, news consumption via national online media stands at just 14%, significantly trailing video content on YouTube (32%).
As a reminder, there was an outage on social network X, and users were unable to see posts.
Additionally, a California court found Instagram and YouTube liable for a teenager’s depression.
