Ukraine's forests have a temporary head
On May 27, the Supervisory Board appointed an interim head of the state-owned enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.” Starting July 1, 2026, Ihor Zubovych, chairman of the commission overseeing the enterprise’s restructuring, will serve as acting director general.
This was reported by the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
“Forests of Ukraine” must continue on the same course, but with renewed energy. The new head faces serious challenges, but we are ready to support his work in every way possible. He enjoys the full confidence of the Supervisory Board,” emphasized Supervisory Board member Roberts Stripnieks.
Supervisory Board member Jann Harjupää added that the results achieved by management in recent years are significant, but the process of transforming the enterprise requires new strength, energy, and expertise.
In turn, Igor Zubovich stated that his goal is to implement modern, transparent, and effective management approaches.
“I thank the members of the Supervisory Board for their trust and support. The company’s priorities are, first and foremost, enhancing management transparency, modernizing and introducing modern technologies, achieving a balance between the economy and the environment, filling the budget, and, most importantly, increasing public trust in the work of foresters,” Zubovich said.
Following the meeting, the Supervisory Board also initiated the process of preparing for a competitive selection process for the position of CEO of the State Enterprise “Forests of Ukraine.” To this end, a professional recruitment consultant will be engaged, and the terms of the competition and criteria for evaluating candidates will be developed.
In addition to personnel decisions, the Supervisory Board approved the report on the implementation of the company’s financial plan for the first quarter of 2026 and the interim report on the achievement of operational goals for this year.
It also took note of the CEO’s report for the first quarter, the results of the analysis of the company’s organizational structure, and the independent auditor’s report on the financial statements for 2022–2024. The Supervisory Board required the company to conduct an independent audit of the 2026 financial statements and approved the procedure for selecting auditors.
In addition, the Supervisory Board recognized the need to implement a unified ERP system at the company for comprehensive automation and management of all company resources.
As noted by Supervisory Board member Markiyan Vytvytskyi, preparatory work has now been completed, and the company is ready to launch the first phase of the system’s implementation. This will improve management quality and accounting transparency while reducing the risks associated with using outdated or sanctioned software.
