The Ministry of Education and Science recommends changing the study schedule due to possible blackouts
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has called on schools to prepare for possible long power outages this winter, which has prompted a review of the school schedule. The letter sent to heads of education departments states that schools have autonomy in determining the structure of the school year. This allows them to change the schedule of classes and postpone some of them until June 2026, except for the final year of school.

The Ministry's recommendations also include the possibility of extending the duration of the winter holidays by reducing or postponing some classes, switching to a six-day school week, and organizing classes in two shifts. Using an asynchronous learning format and increasing access to distance learning platforms, such as All-Ukrainian School Online, will help students adapt to the new conditions. In addition, schools should prepare a supply of water and non-perishable food, and instruct students and parents on how to act during blackouts. Each educational institution is obliged to adapt the recommended changes depending on local conditions and the security situation.
