A 3-year-old boy who had been reported missing was found alive in the Chernihiv region
In the Chernihiv region, 3-year-old Sviatoslav, who had gone missing the day before, was found alive.
The search operation lasted nearly a day and involved more than 300 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Found! This is the news we’ve all been waiting for all night and this morning. Three-year-old Sviatoslav, who went missing yesterday in the Chernihiv region, has been found alive!
The search operation lasted nearly a day and didn’t stop for a single minute. More than 300 personnel from the Ministry of Internal Affairs were involved in the search: police officers, rescue workers, National Guard members, and border guards. K-9 units and drone crews also participated.
Everyone worked as a single unit, because in situations like this, swift action and precise planning play a key role. Our personnel checked every possible route and combed through the area repeatedly. This morning, they found a toy and intensified the search in that sector.
Half an hour ago, aerial reconnaissance teams spotted the child using a thermal imager and promptly relayed the information to ground search teams.
From the very first moments after his rescue, Sviatoslav has been under medical supervision. According to preliminary reports, fortunately, his life is not in danger.
“I would like to thank every employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, local residents, and volunteers for their involvement in saving this child.
“It is precisely for moments like these that the Ministry of Internal Affairs operates,” noted Ivan Vygivsky.

This was reported by Ivan Vygivsky, Head of the National Police of Ukraine.
Earlier in the Carpathian region, the search was concluded for Vitaliy Logush, a 36-year-old resident of the village of Novytsia in the Kalush district, who went missing on August 21. The man was found dead in the forest; no signs of a violent death were found on his body.
