Ukrainian businessman Igor Litvintchuk has been detained in Hawaii
On the island of Maui, law enforcement officials arrested Ukrainian citizen Igor Litvintchuk, who is accused of cruelty to wildlife.

The owner of the transportation company “Transridge Inc.” became the subject of a scandal after he began throwing rocks at a Hawaiian monk seal.
The incident was recorded by bystanders, who later posted the video on social media.
The footage shows the man deliberately attacking the animal, which is under special protection under U.S. law due to the threat of extinction.
According to eyewitnesses, the businessman behaved defiantly and ignored the remarks of those around him. Witnesses claim that the man openly flaunted his wealth and stated that he was “rich and could pay any fines.”
This behavior sparked a wave of outrage among the local community and animal rights activists.
Shortly after the incident gained publicity, activists organized a protest outside Litvintchuk’s office, demanding fair punishment for the mistreatment of the rare mammal.
The police promptly launched an official investigation into the circumstances of the attack. Hawaiian monk seals are classified as a species on the brink of extinction, so any interference in their lives is strictly punishable by law.
It is worth noting that under U.S. law, such actions are subject not only to heavy fines but also to criminal liability.
The businessman’s status does not exempt him from the strict rules protecting the islands’ ecosystem.
