In the Khmelnytskyi region, a court found the former head of the Regional Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEC) guilty and sentenced her to five years in prison with confiscation of property.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
According to the investigation, after relocating from the Donetsk region, the commission, headed by the convicted woman, continued its work in Khmelnytskyi. The commission considered applications for disability classification for internally displaced persons and residents of temporarily occupied territories.
In August 2024, a man applied to the MSEC to undergo the disability determination procedure. During the conversation, according to the investigation, the official stated that obtaining a Group III disability designation would cost $5,000.
Afterward, the applicant contacted law enforcement and agreed to cooperate with the investigation.
In December 2024, the woman was detained while receiving an illegal benefit in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
During searches of her residence, law enforcement officers seized over $20,000 in cash.
The court found the former official guilty of a corruption offense and sentenced her to a prison term with confiscation of property.
