VIDEO: Heavy rains and hurricane-force winds hit western Ukraine
After several hot days, severe weather hit parts of western Ukraine. Heavy downpours accompanied by thunderstorms occurred, in particular, in the Lviv and Volyn regions.
In Lviv, trees were knocked down by a severe thunderstorm. Videos showing the aftermath of the storm—including a tree that fell on a trolleybus—have also been posted online.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi urged residents not to seek shelter under trees, advertising structures, or power lines, but to wait out the storm in a safe place if possible.
Rain also fell in the Lutsk district of Volyn Oblast.
