A man was detained in the Khmelnytskyi region for firing an automatic rifle at the TCC building
In the village of Letychiv in the Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers detained a 31-year-old local resident who opened fire with an automatic weapon near the regional recruitment and social support center.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 17, 2026, when the suspect pulled an automatic rifle from his backpack, fired several shots toward the facility, and fled.
Patrol officers, investigators, and special forces personnel quickly arrived at the scene, where they soon located and detained the shooter in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. No civilians were injured as a result of the hooliganism, and the automatic weapon was seized from the offender. Investigators have opened a criminal case regarding this incident under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for liability for hooliganism involving the use of firearms.
