In the Kirovohrad region, law enforcement officials have uncovered the tragic circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a 28-year-old woman who had been reported missing since February 2026.
The investigation revealed that the young mother had been the victim of a brutal murder as early as the end of last year.
Her 50-year-old father is the prime suspect in this heinous crime.
The victim’s godmother raised the alarm after trying unsuccessfully for a long time to get in touch with her. Upon arriving at the house where the woman lived with her parents and her 3-year-old child, the woman found the child alone.
The grandparents’ confused and illogical explanations regarding their daughter’s whereabouts raised serious suspicions, so she immediately contacted the police.
As investigators discovered, the tragedy unfolded on the night of December 31, 2025, during a family gathering. A sudden conflict erupted between the homeowner and his daughter amid alcohol consumption.
The enraged father grabbed a weapon and fatally wounded his relative, then threatened his own wife with violence, forbidding her from telling anyone what she had seen.
To cover up the crime, the perpetrator buried his deceased daughter’s body in a shed on his property.
During a search authorized by a warrant, law enforcement officers dug up the hiding place and discovered the woman’s body, which showed signs of a violent death. At the same location, police also seized the murder weapon—an unregistered hunting rifle.
