In the Kyiv region, at a recreational area on the banks of the Ros River, a 17-year-old boy struck a 61-year-old woman while learning to drive a VAZ. According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred while the car was backing up.
Law enforcement officials determined that in the riverside and forested area along the Ros River, the 17-year-old boy, while driving a VAZ and reversing, struck a 61-year-old woman who was relaxing near the water.
As a result of the accident, the victim sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor’s Office, have launched a pretrial investigation into a violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation regulations by individuals, which resulted in the victim sustaining moderate bodily injury (Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Law enforcement officials are urging parents not to allow their children to drive.
