A 23-year-old man died from an electric shock in a cellar in the Kyiv region

In the village of Morozivka, Brovary District, Kyiv Region, a 23-year-old man died after being electrocuted in the basement of a private home. 

The Emergency Service “101” received a report of the incident on June 29 at 1:57 p.m., after which rescue workers from Baryshivka arrived at the scene. In the basement, emergency responders discovered the body of a young man born in 2003 who, according to preliminary information, had suffered a fatal electric shock.

Using a rope, a belt, and a stretcher, State Emergency Service personnel brought the body to the surface, after which they handed it over to medical personnel and police officers. Law enforcement agencies are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident and determining the exact cause of the young man’s death. In light of this tragedy, rescue workers are once again urging citizens to strictly follow electrical safety rules and exercise the utmost caution when performing any work in basements, cellars, and other utility rooms with high humidity.

The accident was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kyiv region.

In Volyn, lightning struck seven people near a body of water.

On June 21, a 46-year-old resident of Chernivtsi was injured while hiking a popular tourist route through the Chornohora Range. The woman was struck by lightning while the group was near one of the range’s peaks.
