In the Kyiv region, a freight train struck an 18-year-old cyclist
In the village of Klavdiyevo-Tarasove in the Bucha District of the Kyiv Region, an 18-year-old cyclist was killed after being struck by a freight train.
The young man was crossing a railroad pedestrian crossing when the train struck him. The train engineer applied the emergency brakes, but was unable to avoid the collision, and the young man died from his injuries at the scene. Law enforcement officials have launched a pre-trial investigation into a violation of traffic safety rules or railway operation regulations.

In Khmelnytskyi, a passenger train struck a 64-year-old cyclist who rode onto a railroad crossing despite the lowered barrier, a red signal, and the engineer’s audible warnings.
In the Rivne region, a freight train fatally struck a 33-year-old resident of Radivilov. According to police, the woman was crossing the tracks in an unauthorized area, and the train engineer, despite applying emergency brakes, was unable to avoid the collision.
