A female conductor was killed in a drone attack in the Odesa region
A tragic incident occurred on the Odessa Railway on the night of March 21, 2026, while passengers were being evacuated due to an imminent threat of shelling from the Russian Federation.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, the conductor sustained fatal injuries from an oncoming train that was also heading to the evacuation stop. In addition to the deceased employee, one passenger sustained moderate injuries and is currently under medical supervision.
The company has officially launched a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the accident and has intensified safety briefings for train crews. Railway officials emphasize that evacuation protocols in the event of a drone threat save lives, but require maximum vigilance from both staff and passengers.
