The e-Queue system for passenger cars will be launched in the Odesa region
Odesa Oblast will be one of the first pilot regions in Ukraine where the "eCherga" electronic system for passenger car drivers will officially go live.
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine and Minister of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine Oleksii Kuleba during his speech at the Transport Forum in Odesa.
The new digital service is designed to significantly simplify the procedure for crossing the state border and eliminate hours-long traffic jams at border checkpoints.
The implementation of this technology is part of a large-scale strategy to modernize the country’s border infrastructure.
Government officials emphasize that the development of modern digital tools allows for the creation of transparent conditions for passenger transportation and integration into the European space.
The Odesa region was chosen as the launch site due to its strategic logistical importance and high volume of vehicle traffic.
“Despite the war, Ukraine is not only maintaining its logistics operations but also building a new model of transport resilience—one that is digital, integrated with the EU, and more efficient. The Odesa region plays a key role in this process,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized during the Transport Forum in Odesa.
The relevant ministry has successful prior experience in automating border control, which is now being scaled up to the private sector.
Previously, similar solutions allowed for complete order to be established in the field of international commercial transportation. According to Kuleba, digitalization remains one of the key areas.
The “eCherga” system has already proven its effectiveness for freight and bus transport, making border crossings more predictable and transparent. The next step is testing the service for passenger cars.
Starting May 12, the “eCherga” system will introduce automatic insurance verification
Two more checkpoints will be connected to the "eCherga" system for buses
