A group of pimps who ran a prostitution ring was busted in Rivne Oblast
Law enforcement officials in Rivne Oblast have detained an organizer and his accomplice, who are suspected of running a scheme to recruit women into prostitution and organizing the provision of sexual services in Rivne and Lutsk. According to the investigation, the suspects received 50% of the cost of each order. The cost of services, according to law enforcement officials, ranged from 2,500 to 25,000 hryvnias per hour.
The illegal activities of a 24-year-old man from Rivne and a 21-year-old woman from the village of Nemovychi were uncovered by officers of the Rivne Region Migration Police and the Criminal Analysis Department, in collaboration with investigators from the Rivne Regional Police Department and under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.
During the pre-trial investigation, it was established that the perpetrators used a Telegram channel to seek out women who were in a vulnerable state or facing financial hardship and offered them “earnings” by providing sexual services. They then used the internet to find clients and arrange meetings in Rivne and Lutsk.
The suspects negotiated the terms for providing sexual services, guaranteed supervision and “safety” during meetings with men, and organized and facilitated the provision of sexual services, for which they received 50 percent of the cost of each transaction.
The suspects were caught in the act while transferring funds to one of the clients. During authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized money, communication devices, and other physical evidence that is of significant importance to the criminal proceedings.
Both suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.


Investigators informed them that they are suspected of committing crimes under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 303 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (pimping or coercing a person into prostitution).
By court order, the 24-year-old Rivne resident was placed under pretrial detention, while his 21-year-old accomplice was placed under 24-hour house arrest.
The suspects face 4 to 7 years in prison for their actions. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, according to the Rivne Regional Police.
