In the Hlukhiv community of Sumy Oblast, Yevhen Abramchuk, a squad commander with the State Emergency Service, died while on duty. The rescuer was 43 years old.

Yevhen dedicated nearly 20 years of his life to the Rescue Service. He remained on duty until the very end, faithfully fulfilling his professional duties and helping people. Now he will forever be 43… He had so many plans, dreams, and happy moments ahead of him. Yevhen is survived by his wife and two sons.

This is a heavy and irreparable loss for the entire rescue family! We extend our sincere condolences to Yevhen’s family, loved ones, friends, and colleagues. May the memory of our brother-in-arms live on! – the State Emergency Service said in a statement.
