An official from the Territorial Center for Coordination will stand trial in Volyn for assaulting a man
In Volyn, an official from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support is accused of mistreating a citizen. According to the investigation, during mobilization activities, he allegedly broke the man’s arm and used a stun gun on him. The case has been referred to court. This was reported by the State Bureau of Investigation on May 27.
DBR employees have completed a pre-trial investigation into the head of a group in one of the departments of the Kovel Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, who, along with colleagues, used force against a 60-year-old man. The indictment has been sent to court.
According to the investigation, on March 20 in the village of Zabolotia, Kovel District, three TCC employees approached a 60-year-old local resident who was fishing. Although the man was no longer subject to conscription due to his age, while attempting to detain him, they twisted his arm behind his back and broke a bone with displacement.
After that, one of the servicemen used a stun gun and sprayed pepper spray in his direction, causing chemical burns to his eyes. They also damaged the car’s tires so he could not drive away. As a result of the beating, the man sustained moderate bodily injuries.
The group leader will be tried under Part 1 of Article 122 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional infliction of moderate bodily injury. The penalty under this article provides for up to 3 years of imprisonment.
The case files regarding the other servicemen have been separated into a separate proceeding. The investigation is ongoing. The Volyn Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Defense Sector of the Western Region oversaw the proceedings.
