NABU and the SAP reported on high-ranking officials who were convicted in 2026
In the first half of the year, as of August 10, courts handed down 55 guilty verdicts in cases investigated by NABU and the SAP. Among those convicted are four high-ranking government officials, 11 heads of state-owned enterprises, as well as judges and prosecutors.
NABU Director Semen Kryvonos noted that among the 55 convictions are cases involving four high-ranking government officials and one “Category A” civil servant.
Convictions were also handed down to 11 heads of state-owned enterprises, four judges, and two prosecutors.
In addition, those convicted include civil servants, law enforcement officers, local government officials, local council members, lawyers, and other individuals.
At the same time, representatives of the NABU and the SAP did not specify the average sentence for those convicted. They explained that sentences vary significantly depending on the category of the crime.
“There are different categories of crimes where penalties range, for example, from a fine to a certain restriction of liberty, and others where only imprisonment is prescribed. Therefore, it is not possible to calculate an average in such general terms,” explained Oleksandr Klymenko, head of the SAP.
In addition, the heads of the anti-corruption agencies emphasized that the statistics on acquittals by the High Anti-Corruption Court cannot be fully equated with the results of the work of NABU and the SAP. The High Anti-Corruption Court also hears cases investigated by other law enforcement agencies.
NABU added that nearly 99% of cases in which individuals have been notified of suspicion are referred to court upon completion of the pretrial investigation.

Earlier, the head of the SAP stated that high-level corruption is on the rise in Ukraine. He noted that the fight against bribery is hampered, in particular, by a lack of political will and a number of problems within the anti-corruption system.
Prior to this, NABU and the SAPO served Stefanyishyna with a new notice of suspicion.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy recently dismissed Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the U.S.
NABU conducted searches in connection with the case involving Stefanyishyna’s possible illicit enrichment.
