Naftogaz has reserved capacity at the LNG terminal in Klaipėda through 2044

Naftogaz Group has secured its first long-term reservation of liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification capacity in Europe, booking a terminal in Klaipėda, Lithuania, for the period 2033–2044

According to the company, the terminal operator KN Energies has successfully completed the relevant capacity allocation procedure.

Naftogaz emphasizes that previously, such operations were carried out primarily in partnership with other companies, whereas the current decision marks the first independent long-term capacity booking.

Serhiy Koretskyi emphasized that this marks a transition to a new level of energy planning and cooperation:

“For the first time, the Naftogaz Group has secured long-term LNG regasification capacity in Europe. This involves the LNG terminal in Klaipėda (Lithuania) for the period from 2033 to 2044. The terminal operator, KN Energies, has successfully completed the relevant allocation procedure,” he noted.

He also emphasized that this decision is of strategic importance for Ukraine’s energy security, as it expands access to the global LNG market and strengthens the long-term stability of gas supplies.

The company views this agreement as part of a long-term strategy to diversify energy supply sources and enhance Ukraine’s energy resilience.

This was announced by Serhiy Koretskyi, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, on Facebook.

Earlier, the Naftogaz group reached an agreement in principle with the Eurobond holders’ committee regarding the restructuring of €1.2 billion in debt and extending its maturity to 2032–2033.

The Astana International Financial Centre Court has authorized the compulsory collection of approximately $1.4 billion from the Russian company Gazprom in favor of Naftogaz of Ukraine. The decision recognizes the arbitral award and allows for its enforcement within Kazakhstan.

Gazprom-Media has invested hundreds of millions in a platform to search for “undesirable” content in videos.
