The new French ambassador has officially taken up his post in Ukraine
The newly appointed French Ambassador to Ukraine, Brice Rocfay, arrived in Kyiv and took his first official step in his diplomatic post. He presented copies of his credentials to the Ukrainian side, a necessary procedure for assuming his duties as head of the diplomatic mission.
Upon his arrival in Kyiv, Brice Rocfay presented copies of his credentials to the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and paid tribute to Ukrainian defenders at the walls of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral.
“As I begin my work as the French Ambassador to Ukraine, I am here today, at the Wall of Remembrance, to honor the heroes who gave their lives for their homeland,” the ambassador said.
Earlier, the new French ambassador to Ukraine recorded a message in Ukrainian.
France had previously supported a ban on entry into the EU for Russian occupiers.
Sebastian Tynkkänen, a Member of the European Parliament from Finland, reported that British authorities had denied him an entry permit. The politician was tried in Finland for inciting hatred against minority groups.
As a reminder, the Russian government decided to suspend traffic through a number of railway border crossings with Finland, Estonia, and Latvia starting July 1.
