Searches of Ukrainian armored vehicles could jeopardize the missile project with MBDA
The situation surrounding the searches at the company “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” could affect the implementation of an important defense project. According to the company, the SBU’s actions have brought its operations to a standstill, which could jeopardize agreements with the European missile manufacturer MBDA.
This concerns a potential contract for the joint production of weapons, which is considered strategically important for Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex. The company fears that the suspension of its operations could lead to problems in fulfilling the planned agreements.
According to him, exactly one month ago, “Ukrainian Armored Vehicles” signed a strategic agreement with MBDA—Europe’s largest manufacturer of missiles (including the Taurus and Meteor).
The agreement covers six areas of production—high-precision weapons, deep-strike systems, and anti-drone systems—in Ukraine, valued at several billion euros, with funding already approved by the German government.
However, recent events surrounding the Ukrainian defense enterprise could derail these plans.
“Yesterday’s actions by SBU officers undoubtedly do not improve the Ukrainian defense industry’s ability to produce effective weapons. But that’s not even the point. What is disheartening is the position of the Office of the Prosecutor General, which, with its senseless statements about 1984-era grenade launchers, is merely legitimizing the thuggish behavior of SBU employees,” Pashynsky emphasized.
He called on law enforcement agencies not to hinder the state’s defense efforts, reminding them that the war is still ongoing.
“Ladies and gentlemen, perhaps you are not aware, but Russia has not yet surrendered. We will decide later who will be the commander of Moscow. But for now, do not block our efforts to repel the aggressor,” added the head of the National Association.
This was reported with reference to a statement by Serhiy Pashynsky, chairman of the National Association of Defense Enterprises, on Facebook.
