Faryon, who is accused of murder, will be assigned a public defender
On July 3, the court ruled to appoint a public defender for the defendant in the case of the murder of Iryna Farion. The court also granted the prosecutor’s motion to terminate the powers of his previous defense attorney.
The prosecutor noted that as of July 3, the Unified Register of Lawyers of Ukraine still contained a note regarding the suspension of Attorney Kryvoruchko’s powers. Pursuant to Part 2 of Article 45 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, a lawyer for whom such information is recorded in the registry is not entitled to represent the defendant’s interests.

In light of this, the court appointed a public defender for Zinchenko. At the same time, the defendant has the right to enter into an agreement with any other attorney of his choice before the next court hearing, which is scheduled for July 9.
