The Odessa Military Academy has commented on the arrest of an associate professor who was working for Russia

The Odessa Military Academy responded to the detention of an associate professor at the research center, emphasizing that the actions of an individual cannot be equated with the activities of the entire educational institution, its staff, or its cadets.

The academy emphasized that the incident has no connection to the institution’s work, which continues to fulfill its core mission of training military personnel.

“The actions of an individual have no connection whatsoever to the activities of the Academy, its staff, or its cadets. Every day, our military personnel fulfill their duty—training officers for the army that defends the country,” the Academy stated.

The institution also reported that the suspect’s arrest took place with the assistance of the Odesa Military Academy’s command and military counterintelligence agencies.

The academy emphasized that it is cooperating with law enforcement agencies and urged the public not to hold the entire institution responsible for the actions of a single individual.

Earlier, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office filed an indictment with the court against a senior English language instructor at one of the local universities, who is accused of gathering intelligence for the Russian Ministry of Defense’s special services. The woman is charged with treason committed under martial law.

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine detained another agent in Mykolaiv who was working for Russia. The suspect is a repeat offender who passed information about the locations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the enemy.

Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine issued a notice of suspicion in absentia against Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, who is believed to be involved in supporting the war against Ukraine.

In Dnipro and Odesa, Russian agents were exposed for carrying out arson attacks in the cities.
