The 19,400 hryvnias in winter assistance received can be spent as you see fit

Residents of frontline communities who receive a one-time winter support payment of 19,400 hryvnias will be able to spend these funds at their discretion on any needs related to preparing for the heating season.

According to Denis Ulyutin, Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, the money can be used to purchase fuel, buy warm clothing, pay for housing and utility services, or cover other urgent expenses.

Financial assistance is provided for 11 categories of citizens living in frontline areas. In particular, payments will be available to people who receive subsidies for heating fuel, liquefied gas, or housing and utility services; individuals with disabilities and families with children with disabilities; large families, single mothers and fathers, single disabled retirees, as well as recipients of childbirth benefits. The list also includes family-type children’s homes, foster and guardian families, and internally displaced persons, with the exception of those who live rent-free in housing where utility costs are compensated to the owners.

This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.

To receive the funds, you must submit the appropriate application by October 30. Documents are accepted at regional offices of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, Administrative Service Centers, and the executive bodies of village, town, or city councils.

Starting October 1, the fee for solid waste collection will increase in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. The Russian occupation authorities will raise the fee by 50% immediately, and some residents have been threatened with the suspension of gas supply.
