The passport service has temporarily stopped accepting applications for foreign passports and ID cards

Passport Service offices have temporarily suspended the acceptance of applications for foreign passports and ID cards due to technical issues. At the same time, the issuance of already processed passport documents continues according to the regular schedule.

“Passport Service offices are currently not accepting applications for foreign passports and ID cards. The issuance of completed documents, including foreign passports and ID cards, is proceeding according to the regular schedule,” the statement reads.

The State Enterprise “Document” noted that specialists are currently working to resolve the technical issues. As a result, appointments in the electronic queue will be rescheduled for the next available time slot.

“Specialists are doing everything possible to restore stable system operation as quickly as possible and resume service provision. We ask for your understanding regarding these temporary inconveniences,” the agency urged.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that work to restore the information systems of the State Migration Service of Ukraine is scheduled to be completed by the end of Friday, October 2.

“Specialists are doing everything necessary to ensure full and stable operation as quickly as possible. They plan to complete the work by the end of the day on October 2,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the electronic queue will be transferred while preserving the order of priority. Citizens do not need to re-register in the electronic queue.

Despite the technical issues, the issuance of passport documents that have already been produced continues both in Ukraine and abroad.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs also clarified the rules for issuing documents to men of draft age abroad.

“The issuance of passport documents that have already been produced continues in Ukraine and abroad. Passports will be issued to men of draft age abroad provided they have a valid military registration document and the corresponding data in ‘Reserve+,’” the ministry reported.

Thus, it is specifically the acceptance of applications for new foreign passports and ID cards that has been temporarily suspended, while the issuance of documents that have already been produced continues.

This was announced by the state-owned enterprise “Document” on Facebook.

Earlier, Ukrainians were warned about the temporary suspension of in-person services at “Passport Service” offices. Services will be suspended starting September 28. However, citizens will still be able to receive documents that have already been processed and are ready for issuance.
