An Interior Ministry official has declared expensive real estate in Spain and his family's fortune worth millions
Yevhen Korniyko, Deputy Head of the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions, has disclosed his tax returns detailing his significant assets.
The main focus of the document was an apartment in Spain worth over 6 million hryvnias, as well as the official’s common-law wife’s income in the millions.
According to official data, the declarant is registered and actually resides in the village of Trebukhiv in the Brovary territorial community.
The civil servant lives with Tetiana Oleksandrivna Korniyko but is not legally married to her. Their son, Nazariy, is currently registered in the city of Boryspil.
The lion’s share of the official’s family’s luxury property is traditionally registered in the name of his common-law partner or son. In particular, in 2023, the woman became the owner of an apartment in Spain, valued at 6.2 million hryvnias.
She has also owned an apartment in Turkey since 2022, with an official value of 497,000 hryvnias.
Within Ukraine, the family owns a significant amount of residential space and land plots. In the village of Trebukhiv, there is a residential house with an area of 284.6 square meters, of which the official owns only 10%, while the remaining 90% belongs to his partner.
In addition, Tetiana Korniyko owns a 92.9-square-meter apartment in Kyiv valued at 960,000 hryvnias, and her son owns a 51.2-square-meter apartment in the capital.
The garage of the Interior Ministry official’s family houses several luxury cars. His common-law wife owns a Nissan Juke crossover and a Mercedes-Benz ML 250 CDI, which she received as a non-monetary gift.
Yevhen Korniyko himself has the right to use a luxury SUV, a “Toyota Land Cruiser 200,” which is legally registered to a third party, Oleksandra Gromova.
Over the past year, Yevhen Korniyko received 828,000 hryvnias in salary from his place of employment.
His partner declared 5.02 million hryvnias from business activities, as well as a non-monetary gift worth 961,000 hryvnias.
The family’s financial savings have attracted significant attention due to the large amounts of cash on hand. The official holds 390,000 hryvnias and 40,000 euros in cash, while his partner holds 3.2 million hryvnias.
In addition, the woman has opened numerous accounts in foreign banks in Poland, Turkey, and Spain.
This is reported in Korniyko’s declaration.
