Those involved in the unlawful detention of Ukrainian cash collectors in Hungary must be punished — Sibiga
Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called for all those involved in the criminal proceedings against Ukrainian cash collectors in Hungary to be held accountable.
This refers to a case that Hungarian authorities dropped due to lack of evidence of a crime. The Ukrainian cash collectors had previously been detained on suspicion of money laundering, but the investigation determined that the seized funds, gold, and banknotes were of legal origin.
Sybiga called the dismissal of the case the expected conclusion to the “lie” perpetrated by former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
“Everyone involved in fabricating this hoax and the unlawful detention of our citizens and state property must be held accountable,” the foreign minister emphasized.
The minister also stated that this incident should serve as a warning to politicians who use anti-Ukrainian rhetoric for domestic political purposes.

As a reminder, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga reported that the Hungarian side has yet to explain the reasons for the detention of seven Oschadbank cash collectors.
A team from the National Bank traveled to Budapest in response to the detention of Oschadbank employees.
Hungary has also accused the detained Oschadbank cash collectors of money laundering.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Ukrainians to refrain from traveling to Hungary.
