Law enforcement officials dismantled an FSB network operating in the Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions
The Security Service of Ukraine and prosecutors have detained two informants who were gathering intelligence to plan airstrikes on Defense Forces facilities. Although the suspects operated independently, their activities were coordinated by a common handler from the Russian intelligence service via anonymous chat rooms.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
One of the detainees, a resident of the Kyiv region, was engaged in locating air defense positions around the capital, marking coordinates on electronic maps. The second suspect, working as a driver for a post office in Zaporizhzhia, used his work trips to record the movement of military equipment toward the front lines. During searches of both suspects, mobile phones containing evidence of subversive activities in favor of the aggressor country were seized.
Currently, both detainees have been notified of the charges against them, and the court has ordered preventive measures in the form of detention. Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of their collaboration with the occupiers. The men face lengthy prison terms, up to life imprisonment, for their actions.
As a reminder, the SBU detained a spotter for Russian strikes on Chernivtsi.
The SBU also exposed a Russian intelligence network that was planning terrorist attacks using teenagers.
