The President of Ukraine has awarded state honors to 373 defenders

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed an official decree awarding 373 Ukrainian military personnel and security and defense sector employees who demonstrated exceptional resilience and heroism while repelling full-scale Russian aggression

For their courage and selfless actions in defending the country’s state sovereignty and territorial integrity, high state awards have been granted to representatives of the National Guard, the National Police, the State Border Guard Service, as well as rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES). Regrettably, 181 defenders received this recognition posthumously. 

The corresponding decree No. 471/2026 is dated June 3, 2026. According to the text of the official document, for their impeccable and conscientious service to the Ukrainian people, the soldiers and agency employees have been honored with the following high awards:

  • Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky;

  • Orders of Danylo Halytskyi;

  • Orders “For Courage”;

  • Medals “For Military Service to Ukraine”;

  • Medals “Defender of the Fatherland”;

  • "For Impeccable Service" Medals;

  • Medals “For Saving Lives”;

  • The highest military decoration of the President of Ukraine—the Order of the Cross of Military Merit.

This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 471/2026 dated June 3.

Zelenskyyawarded 34 Ukrainians on Volunteer Day.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honored 362 military personnel with state awards, 176 of them posthumously. The awards were granted for courage, dedication, and the defense of the country’s sovereignty. Among the honors are orders, medals, and the “Cross of Military Merit.”
