Border guards have warned of difficulties in crossing through Medyka

On Monday, June 15, repair work will begin at the Polish border crossing point “Medika” on the lanes designated for processing buses entering the Republic of Poland (exiting Ukraine). As a result, processing and clearance of passenger transport will be subject to delays. 

According to the Polish side, bus service will not be completely suspended, but the estimated throughput capacity on this route will decrease and may be as low as 8 buses over a 12-hour period. 

Ukrainian border guards note that “Shehyni -Medyka” is one of the busiest border crossing points on the Ukrainian-Polish border, handling a significant volume of international passenger traffic daily via both buses and passenger cars. Travelers are asked to take this information into account when planning their trips and, if possible, to choose alternative border crossing points.

This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.

It was reported that large-scale repair work will begin at the “Shehyni–Medyka” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border, which will prevent buses from crossing the border from Ukraine to Poland from June 15, 2026, until November 2027.

Previously, at the “Medyka” border crossing on the Ukrainian-Polish border, technical issues arose with the Polish Border Guard’s database, causing delays in processing vehicles and passengers.

At the Ukrainian-Polish border, the “Medyka–Shehyni” border crossing point will temporarily operate with restrictions due to road repairs on the Polish side.
